==== Triple and Quadruple Counterpoint at the Twelfth ====

In order to obtain //triple// and //quadruple// counterpoint at the //twelfth//, it will be necessary, after first combining it according to its appointed rules, to proceed in the same manner as already done, with regard to counterpoint at the //octave//; that is to say, by taking care to avoid discords that are not passing ones, and by scrupulously observing contrary or oblique movements.

In order to form a //triple// counterpoint from a //double// one, there need only be added a third part, either a third below the upper part, or a third above (or below) the lower part.
